Hip Dislocation in Adults
Hip dislocation seen in adults may occur in later years due to congenital hip dislocation problems or in trauma-related situations such as a fall, traffic accident, or work accident. Among the main causes of hip dislocation in adults is neglecting congenital hip dislocation or not receiving the necessary treatment. However, in addition to genetic factors, deterioration of the structure of the hip joint as a result of swaddling during infancy can cause many problems in the following years. In patients with hip dislocation in adults; When viewed from the side, it is seen that the waistline has increased significantly. The pelvis does not lie flat, parallel to the floor, but turns downwards. As it rotates, the waistline increases and one leg is shorter. When one leg is short and the other is long, the spine begins to curve. In addition, the knee joint begins to deteriorate because the knee on the other side carries too much weight. Therefore, a very simple hip dislocation can damage all important joints of the body in the future.
In the treatment of hip dislocation in adults, the most appropriate treatment method is decided after the necessary analysis and evaluations are made. It is extremely possible for the patient to get rid of his pain and continue his life comfortably with surgical intervention or hip replacement surgery. The issue that should be emphasized at this point is the control of the baby's hip joint, especially after birth. Applying the necessary treatment early in babies with hip dislocation plays an important role in preventing many problems that may arise in the future.
