Prepatellar Bursitis
Bursa is a sacculations that is full of liquid. Function of these sacculations is to help soft tissiue’s, such as tendon, muscle and ligament ), move over the bone at the bottom. Pretabellar Bursitis points out the turgescence over the patella. In case of an excessive accumulation of liquid in the sacculations, a situation called as bursitis comes out.
Reasons of Prepatellar Bursitis
The prepatellar Bursitis generally is a problem for who stand on their knees too much. So this disease is called as ‘ Maid’s Knee’ in colloquial language. It is observed that the people who perform prayer have this problem for these people get down on their knees. The maid knee can be a result of a trauma. Some cases like dropping on the knees, a hit on the knee or traffic accidents may cause the prepatellar bursitis. Some bacteries after the infections, bursa swells and gets inflamed.
Symptoms of the Prepatellar Bursitis
- Pain on and under the patella.
- Truscency on the patella ( a circle-shaped and inflamed swelling )
- Feeling of heat when touched.
- Difficulties with bending the knees.
Treatments of the Prepatellar Bursitis
Simple cases can be treated with relaxation and ice treatments. Another treatment methods like drug and heat treatments can be used. Preventing difficult movements like bending the knees and using knee backing tolsa are whe treatments that we can do by ourselves. A surgery may be needed if the illness is advanced.
