What Should Be Considered to Protect Knee Health?
Having healthy knees, which play an important role along with the feet in moving the body, means a healthier and higher quality life. Due to knee problems that occur for various reasons, some limitations may occur in a person's movements, which may lead to a less active or sedentary life. Therefore, a sedentary life can lead to different disorders in the body. That's why knee health should be taken into consideration and given importance.
To protect knee health;
- First of all, attention should be paid to weight gain. Every kilo gained puts extra stress on the knees. These weights can cause wear and deterioration of the joint cartilage in the knee. However, in later cases, it may also cause calcification.
- You should not sit on your knees for a long time.
- Knees should not be pulled towards the abdomen while sleeping.
- Stretching exercises should be done before exercise.
- Exercises that strengthen the muscles around the knee should be done.
- Knee pain should not be taken lightly, the necessary examination should be performed by a specialist physician.
- Patients with knee problems should do exercise or sports according to the advice of a specialist physician, as it may negatively affect the disease.
- Attention should be paid to foot health, and it should not be forgotten that some foot deformities also affect the knee.
